DEVICE OUTPUT(to TV, projector, nonlinear editing card)
S-Video port output:
- PREPATATION
Check if your video adapter contains S terminal. S terminal is first created by JVC in the second half of 1980s, now it is widely incorporated by video adapter manufacturers; at present, TV-Out function in most video adapters is realized through S terminal, which generally is marked as TV-Out, S-video or VID-Out. It I needed to note, at present, non-standard 5 pin S terminal that is adopted by some video adapters can also use standard 5 pin S terminal cable. Here gives a description of Colorful® GeForce 4 MX440-8X CV edition video adapter, which uses standard 5Pin S terminal. At present, most TV (projector/nonlinear editing card) contains video input (Video-In) port or S-video connector, either of them can realize input of video signal.
Based on the available connector of the hardware, you should buy the following cable for connection:
- RCA two wire cable 10s, or you can buy based on the distance from TV (projector/nonlinear editing card) to computer, which is available on the electronic market place from 2 meters to 50 meters, the price is RMB 2/m.
(The picture is for reference only, be careful to choose mail or female connector for correct connection)

- S-terminal to RCA cable

- RCA to RCAs connector.(The picture shows a 1 to 2, there is 1 to 1 in the market place)

- Standard audio jack to RCA connector

- If the TV (projector, nonlinear editing card) of the audience contains S terminal, they can buy a prolonging cable with S terminals at both ends, which is rare for longer distance.

- WIRING:
Wiring is very simple. Use the connectors as required for the connection. For example, use the S terminal of S terminal to RCA cable to connect video adapter, use one of the RCA to connect one wire of the video cable through RCA to RCA connector, use standard audio jack to RCA connector to connect the audio card output port on the computer, then connect another wire of the video cable. Then connect two RCA connectors of another end of the video cable with the Video-in and Audio port on TV (projector, nonlinear editing card); be sure that the wire to adapter must be connected to the Video-In port on TV (projector, nonlinear editing card), this is easy because the video cable contains different colors.
- SOFTWARE SETTING:
Before setting the adapter, shut down computer at first; connect S-terminal cable to S-terminal on computer and TV (projector, nonlinear editing card), then power on computer and TV (projector, nonlinear editing card), which should be switched to S terminal video input.
Setting of GF video adapter: Before powering on the computer, connect TV-out from TV (projector, nonlinear editing card) to TV-out on the adapter, and you must power on TV (projector, nonlinear editing card) (before setting the software, please power on TV (projector, nonlinear editing card) and set to AV channel, otherwise the software can not detect the TV (projector, nonlinear editing card), and you probably can not see the options for setting). After the computer enters into the OS, right click on the desktop, select "Property" item from the pop up menu. Enter into "Display" dialog and click "Advance" in Setting tab, then you can see "NView" options.

In the "Nview" options, you can see many settings related to multiple screen display. In "NView" mode, "Standard" disables this function. "Horizontal span" meaning the complete view is split horizontally into two halves, each is output and displayed in two devices. "Duplicate" allows the view to show simultaneously in two devices. "Vertical span" means the complete view is split vertically into two halves, each is output and displayed in two devices. Since we primarily want to use VJDirector to show the broadcasting content on TV (projector, nonlinear editing card), so we check the "Vertical span" option. Then we select the computer monitor as the main displaying screen from "Display" dropdown box.
When setting completed, click "Apply" in right bottom corner, a new display setting dialog will appear, then select "OK". It is needed to note, if the resolution of the TV screen is set to a very high value, it can not display the full content, but only that in left top corner. By far, we have set the video adapter with video output feature (TV-Out).
Setting of ATI video adapter:
Right click on desktop, select "Property - Setting - Advanced"

Select "Superposition" - theatre mode

Select "Theatre mode", "full screen", "4:3" respectively (if your TV (projector, nonlinear editing card) is wide screen, select "16:9")

After setting completed, click OK. In Display, setting has been adjusted like this.

It is ok to set TV property to default.

By far, setting of ATI video card is over.
- SOFTWARE OPERATION:
Click the secondary display window of the software, drag it to the TV (projector, nonlinear editing card) screen (enters through the monitor margin). By double clicking this window, you can display it in full screen. Thus it realizes output to TV (projector, nonlinear editing card); you can switch your operation through the monitor display. And playing in this manner will not need encoding, so the operation can be performed on a computer without high configuration.
VGA OUTPUT TO HIGH RESOLUTION DIGITAL TV:
VGA connection produces much better effect than S terminal connection; with VGA cable, you can easily use TV as the second monitor, which gives out levels higher effect. But at premises, you should have VGA port, as well as a double VGA video adapter.
If your video adapter is such mode, you can get a VGA cable for the connection. But most video adapter is available for VGA + DVI output, you can get a DVI to VAG connector in addition to a VGA cable.

If your TV contains component video connection port, you can experience high quality media; with a VGA to component video cable to connect the TV, you will obtain wonderful effect!

The figure shows the ports behind a high resolution TV.

VGA to component video function
Product function: this cable is widely used for conversion between VGA (video graphic array) and component video signal, suitable forD-SUB 15 PIM/RCA port of a variety of electric equipment, e.g. the connection cable for computer, high resolution DVD and projector, high resolution TV, back-projection TV, plasma TV.
Application scope: Signal transfer from VGA port to component video port.
NOTE:
1. This is used only when the video equipment such as TV, projector contains component video port (RCA port with a RGB group).
2. To connect the computer with video equipment such as TV and projector, the it is necessary that the video adapter supports video component output, and which only is ATI video adapter; the details about the models are as follows.
ATI official document listed the modals that support YPbPr signal output, including Radeon 8500, Radeon 9500, Radeon 9600, Radeon 9700 and Radeon 9800.
If your ATI Radeon does not contain a DVI port, you should get a VGA to 3RCA cable.VGA to 3RCA cable is used for connect the VGA connector of the video adapter to the video component connector of the display equipment, such as a TV.
If your ATI Radeon contains a DVI connector, you also need a DVI-I to VGA connector in addition to a VGA to 3RCA cable. Because the YPbPr signal will be output from DVI-I connector on such video adapter, you need a DVI-I to VGA connector to connect VGA to 3RCA cable.
As a matter of course, you surely can not enjoy the video without sound. Find the audio cable shipped with your machine, connect one end to the Audio out port of your audio adapter, connect another end to the relevant audio input port of the TV, so every thing is OK. However, this produced trouble when you use your computer, so you can get a 3.5 1 to 2 connector or conversion cable, insert the male connector to the audio adapter, the two ends of 1 to 2 connector connects the TV audio input and computer speaker respectively.
